Development history
Poland needed something that could drag its 220 mm mortars and heavy guns across soft ground, and the 7TP running gear was already in production. The C7P kept the tank's suspension, engine and transmission under an open crew cab with bench seating for a gun detachment. Around 150 were built and they served alongside the 7TP companies as tractors and as recovery vehicles for broken-down tanks - unglamorous work that kept the armoured units moving in 1939. Captured examples were pressed into German service. It is included here as the workhorse half of the 7TP family rather than as a combat vehicle.
