Development history
Mechanically the M14/41 was an M13/40 with a more powerful diesel, better air filtration for desert dust and detail improvements to the tracks and vision devices. It was the standard Italian medium tank of the North African campaign, fighting at Gazala, El Alamein and in Tunisia, where crews handled it bravely against Allied armour that outclassed it in armour and gunpower alike. After the 1943 armistice, German forces took over surviving vehicles for garrison and anti-partisan work in Italy and the Balkans.
