Development history

The Jagdpanther married the Panther's mobility to the long 88 mm anti-tank gun in a low, well-sloped casemate. It could destroy any Allied tank at long range, but arrived far too late and in far too few numbers, and the fixed superstructure meant the whole vehicle had to turn to track a target.
