Development history
Nikolai Tseits drew the KV-5 in parallel with the KV-4 competition, pushing the hull to roughly a hundred tonnes with a tall separate cupola for the driver. Work stopped in August 1941 when Leningrad came under siege. Weight, armour and output figures survive only as projections on the drawings; widely quoted precise numbers for this vehicle come from a video game and are not used here.
