Development history
The M15 and M16 series put anti-aircraft mountings on the M3 half-track: the M15 a 37 mm gun with two .50s, the M16 a Maxson turret with four .50 calibre Brownings. With the Luftwaffe largely absent from the Western Front by 1944 they spent most of their time firing at treelines, buildings and infantry, earning the nickname Meat Chopper. They served through Korea and were exported widely into the 1960s. It is a half-track gun carriage rather than a tank and is recorded as such here.
