Development history
Developed at Leningrad in the mid-1950s on T-10M running gear, Object 268 carried a long 152 mm gun in a well-sloped forward casemate. The single vehicle ran trials in 1956-57. By then guided anti-tank missiles and the coming universal main battle tank had made the heavy assault gun redundant, and the project closed. The prototype is preserved at Kubinka.
