Development history

Developed from the SU-85 when German armour outgrew the 85 mm gun, the SU-100 carried the D-10 that would later arm the T-54. It could defeat Panther and Tiger frontally at combat range. Long service followed: Egyptian, Syrian, Cuban and Vietnamese crews used SU-100s for decades after 1945.
