Prototype only. The first Soviet-designed medium tank, a two-tier multi-turret machine that never left trials but fixed the layout the T-24 inherited.

Development history
Drawn up at Kharkiv in 1928-29 as a home-grown replacement for imported designs, the T-12 placed a 45 mm gun turret above a smaller machine-gun turret. Trials in 1930 showed the transmission and the tall silhouette were both unworkable, and the single hull was rebuilt into the T-24 programme.
