Development history
Designed by the Koshkin and Tsyganov schools of convertible drive, the T-29 married the T-28 three-turret superstructure to a Christie-derived wheeled running gear. Two vehicles ran trials to 1937; the drive train could not take the weight and the work fed instead into the T-34 line.
