Development history
Where the Medium A Whippet came from Tritton, the Medium B came from Walter Wilson and introduced an engine bay fully separated from the crew - a layout every later tank would adopt. In practice the cramped fighting compartment, poor engine access and modest power made it unloved, and the Armistice ended production at 45 vehicles. A few went to North Russia with British forces in 1919. One survives at Bovington.
